Five years ago, in 2019, Tomas and I fought together the pitfalls of the 1000 miles adventure race, and we still meet each other at many other races afterwards. Tomas hasn't given up on "the miles", as the 1000 miles race is familiarly called, and has grown incredibly athletic, even winning it twice. And that's when DYNABANK started to be created, the first version was tested in this race in 2019. And now our paths crossed again, Tomáš together with Klára, whom he met how else but on the miles, last year founded their own MTB unsupported race called 3-2-1 VABANK, which is unique in that it is limited in the equipment that the racer can carry with him. It's simply a vabank race. And this year, it's spiced up even more by the fact that Klara and Tomas say their yes the day before for the journey of a lifetime together.
To support them at least a little bit, all 3-2-1 Vabank competitors will receive a 40% off coupon for DYNABANK purchases until the end of April and 30% until the end of June. I wish Klara and Tom all the best for their life together, lots of miles together and to avoid punctures, whether on the bike or in life.
The 3-2-1 Vabank race is a MTB ultramarathon that is completely unique in that you can basically bring only 3 things for your support besides your bike, navigation, powerbank, basic clothing (jersey + one underwear and one outerwear) and food and drink. And it's up to you which one you choose. You can take a backpack or a bike bag with a sleeping bag and a pad, but you can no longer take a pump, spare inner tube or tyre levers. Or do you just take the pump, the repair kit and the tyre levers? Or do you just take your chance without everything? It's up to you. Of course, you can use random help along the way, if you get a flat and a passing cyclist helps you, you can do without the pump and repair kit. Want to take a chance? The race is 321 km long, during which pretty much anything can happen. But you definitely don't want to cheat, that's beneath a proper ultramarathoner and bikepacker. And completely out of the spirit of this race.
